Camp Olympia Swimming Kids
Our swimming program contains a variety of levels customized to serve all
participants needs.
Infant To Kindergarten Swim Levels
Ages: 6 months - 5½ years old
Fee: See the Sessions page.
Water Angels
For ages 6-24 months with their parent or caregiver. Through songs, fun and instructional games, students learn to be comfortable in the water & learn basic water skills.
Water Tots
For ages 18 months - 3 years old with their parent or caregiver. Through songs, fun and instructional games, students learn to be comfortable in the water & learn basic water skills.
Angelfish with caregiver
For ages 3-5 years old with their parent or caregiver. Class goal: Water adjustment, learn basic swimming skills. Children go in the water with a floatation belt and the grown ups are in the water to help the children while being led by the teacher to learn how to kick, blow bubbles, water adjustment, float and swim. This class is for children 3-5 years old who are not quite ready to go in the water without their caregiver or who are trying to transition from a water tots class to an Angelfish class.
Angelfish
For ages 3-5 years old. Class goal: Water adjustment, learn basic swimming skills (kicking, arms movement, develop coordination, blow bubbles, submerge face or head under water).
Butterflyfish
For ages 4-5½ years old. Class goal: swim the width of the pool unassisted, swim under water, learn basic swimming skills for front crawl, perfect rhythmic breathing.
Catfish
For children 4 to 6 years old who can already swim the length of the pool comfortably without a float. Class goal: perfect free style technique, build general endurance, introduction to back stroke technique and freestyle starts and turns.
Youth Swim Levels
Ages: 6 - 14

Barracuda
For non-swimmers. Class goal: teach water adjustment, learn rhythmic breathing, learn front crawl technique, develop stroke coordination, swim under water.
Blue Marlin
For beginner swimmers who can swim half a pool length. Class goal: perfect the front crawl technique, learn rotary breathing, build basic endurance, swim in deep water, and swim one length of the pool front crawl.
Sailfish
For swimmers who can swim one length of the pool front crawl minimal coordination. Class goal: perfect front crawl techniques, build endurance, perfect front crawl starts and turns, swim one length of the pool with proper front crawl technique, learn to swim backstroke.
Swordfish
For advanced swimmers that swims 1 to 2 length of the pool front crawl with proper technique. Class goal: develop endurance, speed, strength, perfect front crawl, backstroke technique with starts and turns, swim 2 lengths of the pool front crawl and backstroke with proper technique.
Dolphin
For more advanced swimmers who can swim front crawl and backstroke with proper techniques. Class goal: develop endurance, speed, strength, perfect front crawl and backstroke, learn breast stroke and butterfly stroke. Swim one lap of the pool using each of the four strokes.
Kids with Special Needs
Rainbow Fish
For children with autism ages 5-8 years old with their parent or caregiver. Children will learn to be comfortable in the water through safe, secure and fun activities. These activities will help to improve their range of motion, body awareness, mobility, and most importantly, have fun.
